Next Gen TV brings the prospect of fulfilling the vision of "Broadcast Internet" services, and reaching consumers in a way that can complement, and even surpass, cellular service. One hurdle that must be overcome, however, is that most wireless operators and mobile phone manufacturers have historically demonstrated an unwillingness to integrate or activate OTA receivers in their consumer devices. One bridge towards such an integration is to provide Next Gen TV immediately to existing mobile devices by using OTA gateway devices equipped with WiFi hotspots and internet connectivity.

We will describe and demonstrate one system currently under development that provides personalized OTA content and services to mobile consumers using public transportation.
