As a trainer, Steve has traveled more than 4 million air miles, trained more than 50,000 people, conducted more than 5,000 in-person workshops and delivered more than 500 Sales Kickoffs and keynote speeches in more than 20 countries throughout North and South America, EMEA, APAC. In 2020, Steve delivered virtual workshops and online training programs for salespeople, managers and owners from more than 100 companies worldwide from his home in NY.
As a digital media coach, Steve has worked with broadcast, print, online publishers and AdTech companies as well as agencies. His broadcast clients include ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, HBO Latin America, and many affiliates including Sinclair and Hearst (TV and print). Apart from a long history with the NAB SMTE, Steve has worked with many media trade organizations including the IAB where he introduced one of the first online IAB-certification preparation training programs. Steve currently provides individual coaching to sellers globally as well as digital media technology start-up CEOs.
Steve’s message is Adapt and Adopt. Following his own advice, he left the training business to in 2005 to join 24/7 Real Media (now Xaxis) running sales teams in media, search and ad-serving technology. He moved to Group M / WPP to work with global search marketing clients. He later ran the NY office for a global search marketing agency (specializing in SEM and SEO) before launching his own search marketing consulting business. He returned to training, with a new specialty in digital media in 2009 to launch Digital Media Training with co-founder, digital pioneer, Dave Moore.
As an author, Steve’s newest book, Echo Selling, introduces today’s salespeople to the influences of psychology, digital media and word-of-mouth on buying decisions.
Covid-19 has accelerated changes to the marketplace and to the way salespeople can effectively train for success. Steve has developed a library of online training programs for onboarding new sellers through specialty skills needed by experienced sales professionals. His 8-part Pipeline Management Program is licensed by global companies and now available to individuals through this library.
