Radio veteran, Kathy Brown started her radio career in her hometown of Chicago as an on-air personality at WLNR-FM, a Johnson Publishing Company station. She quickly elevated to a morning show personality and Program Director. After four years in Chicago, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin as Program Director and morning personality for WMVP/WMCS-AM. It was in Milwaukee, where Kathy Brown acquired the nickname, "KB" when interviewing then presidential nominee, Bill Clinton. She was covering the Jeffery Dahmer case and using talk and music as a format to intrigue and captivate audiences.
Throughout her career KB has learned something different in each market. She learned the fundamentals of radio in Chicago, the importance of community services in Milwaukee and to program specifically to the core audience in Baltimore. In Washington, DC she is dedicated to developing and shirring her knowledge with the next generation of radio broadcasters.
KB holds an undergraduate degree in Mass Communications from Illinois State University. kb is a member of the NAB, received a living legends award, a St. Louis Hall of Fame Award, 4 Billboard Radio Awards, and 3 Urban Network awards.
